Liturgy

Here at the St. Thomas More Newman Center, we have a vibrant and active community of students who assist in our litury. Opportunities to serve include lectoring, music (instrumental, cantoring, and choir), altar serving, and serving as an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist.

Dollar Dinner

We serve homecooked meals every Thursday at 6:00 PM for $1 to college students at the University of South Dakota. This is no small feat; continuous planning and coordination amongst staff, FOCUS missionaries, and many students ensure a successful dinner where we serve up to 200 students each week!

NCAC

The Newman Center Advisory Council is a Christ-centered student advisory board dedicated to the service, improvement, and expansion of the Newman Center community. Committees include Events, Hospitality, Liturgy, Marketing, and Outreach. The Executive Team is comprised of Committee Heads, the Secretary, the President, and the Campus Minister. The Executive Team meets once a month to determine agendas before NCAC Meetings and to discuss other relevant topics and ideas. NCAC Meetings are a place where the agenda of upcoming events is covered as well and other relevant items are discussed. These meetings are also a time for individuals on their respective committees to work together and coordinate for their various events and responsibilities.

Applications for the NCAC open in March and are a year-long commitment. Application link coming soon!
